As the summer weather is nicer it allows us to enjoy the outdoors more often. David and I are avid golfers and we also like cycling and walking. After enjoying one of these activities, what’s better than making a meal on the barbecue! We grill almost everything because we like the smokiness it gives the food and also why heat up the kitchen during the hot summer months?
We grill many different proteins. When it comes to fish, we have our favorites like Grilled Marlin Steaks, East Coast Swordfish, Tarragon Limoncello Halibut, Stuffed Snapper, Grilled Fish Tacos, Polynesian Mahi Mahi, Pacific Coast Salmon, and many more. There’s another dish we love to make often and it’s Grilled Tuna Steaks!
This fish recipe is totally an OMG! The steaks are marinated for 2 to 3 hours in a beautiful mixture of ingredients elevating the delicate flavor of the tuna. After the passive time is done, they are grilled perfectly on the barbecue, basting the fish with the warm marinade… These Grilled Tuna Steaks are a great recipe to make anytime. It’s an elegant way to enjoy this protein without spending too much time prepping and cooking it, perfect for when you have company over. The total grilling time is only 4 ½ minutes giving you plenty of time to enjoy yourself with your guests.
Like any fish or meat, it’s important to bring the tuna back to room temperature after marinating it as it will cook more evenly and faster, keeping the protein moist. During the summer, it obviously takes less time to bring the fish back to room temperature – 15 to 20 minutes at the most – but if you plan on grilling it during the coldest months of the year, it might take a good 30 to 40 minutes, depending on the thickness of your tuna steaks.
Moist, tender and absolutely delicious, these Grilled Tuna Steaks pair very well with many different sides. The sweet-tangy sauce complements the fish perfectly making this dish a great choice for summer barbecues…
