Pimento Cheese Sandwich Recipe • An Augusta Classic! | Club Foody

 

David and I are avid golfers. After the summer is over, we go to the Palm Springs area so we can enjoy more golf. Fall is low golf season down there as most courses are closed because of overseeding, but we still get out and play at several of our favorites.
 
The Masters Golf Tournament in Augusta, Georgia is ON our bucket list. Going there for 4 days would be the most incredible experience! I’ve been to a couple major tournaments in the past. In 1981, I was at the Bob Hope Desert Classic at Tamarisk Country Club in Rancho Mirage with my father, my Aunt Rolande, Uncle John and my cousin Marie-Michelle. I was also at the Canadian Open back in 2007 at Angus Glen. I was right there to witness Jim Furyk making a hole-in-one on the 4th hole with my late best girlfriend Brigitte. It was priceless!
 
Another priceless moment happened last year on October 21st 2019 when my husband had his first hole-in-one! Wow! It was so amazing! Our friends Glen and Nancy were playing with us and I’m glad they were there to witness that incredible moment. I was so happy for him!
 
After we finished our round, we went to the bar to celebrate. Well it was definitely David’s lucky day (he should’ve bought some lottery tickets) because there was no one inside the bar besides the four of us and the bartender. The tradition is when someone has a hole-in-one, that person has to buy a round of drinks for all the patrons in the bar. It can be an expensive bar tab. After ordering 4 martinis with blue cheese stuffed olives (each olive has probably 1K calories each but who cares… lol), I was also thinking about the Pimento Cheese Sandwich!
 
Today and the rest of the weekend is the Masters and also my birthday therefore I’ll be glued to the TV watching the tournament. This sandwich is available during the Masters Golf Tournament in Augusta, Georgia. With a tasty combination of ingredients, this Pimento Cheese Sandwich is so delectably delicious… no wonder it’s so popular at the Masters.
 
I can’t wait to see David get another hole-in-one. Next time though, I’ll make sure to make him this amazing and famous Pimento Cheese Sandwich. In the interim, we’ll be enjoying one this coming weekend while watching the Masters on television, hoping to visit one day in person… FORE!
