Apple Cheese Pie Recipe • A Twist on an old favorite! | Club Foody

Who doesn’t have a sweet tooth 🦷 once in a while?
I do! I enjoy making desserts, but only when there are people coming over otherwise, David and I have to eat them all by ourselves.

Occasionally, I make a dessert just for us, and when it happens, I carefully choose because we’ll be eating it for a few days. During fall, there’s one I don’t even have to think about making, and it’s my Apple Cheese Pie!

When it comes to this dessert, whether guests are over or not, this is a pie I love to make. It’s so yummy! It’s our treat during late summer and early fall with all the beautiful apples 🍏🍎 we buy at the local orchards.

This recipe has a unique twist to it. I know many of you have a slice of cheese 🧀 along with your apple pie, but in mine, the cheese is actually in the pie with the apples. As much as it’s unusual, this gives the pie an incredible flavor!

Think about it…
The saltiness from the cheese combined with the apples, cinnamon, and other ingredients complements each other beautifully! It’s like a match made in baking heaven!!! It goes together like bread and butter 🍞🧈, peaches and cream 🍑, peanut butter and jam… I think you get the idea!

Homemade is the best, and if you want to make your own dough, here’s a recipe… Foolproof Pie Dough! I tried my mother’s recipe, and it was a disaster 😫! I’m serious, I could’ve injured someone with it because it was so hard. Then I gave my aunt’s recipe a shot. Same thing until this one. Now, this is my go-to pie crust recipe!

This delectably delicious Apple Cheese Pie is a yummy twist on an old favorite. Served with my scrumptious No Churn Vanilla Bean Ice Cream 🍦, it’s sinfully delicious in every bite! The next time you want to make an awesome dessert for fall, you know which recipe to try…

Creamy Poppyseed Dressing Recipe | Club Foody

I grew up with bottles of salad dressing and vinaigrette on the table. Very rarely did my mother 👱‍♀️ make an oil-vinegar-based vinaigrette. There were a few selections of Kraft bottles, and while my brother and I reached for Thousand Island, my parents opted for either Italian or French vinaigrette.

As a young woman, I did the same at first, but not for very long. Because I was on a tight budget and always hated monotony, I was financially 🏧 forced to make a few from scratch to avoid having the same flavor until the bottle was empty and buying another flavor until that one was gone as well.

Years ago, I completely gave up on buying commercial dressings and vinaigrettes. The reasons are very simple: it tastes fresher, it costs less, it’s quick to make, and finally, there are no preservatives or low-quality oils in it. I’m also in control of the amount of salt 🧂 and sugar.

So far, there are almost 20 recipes for both vinaigrette and salad dressing on the website. I still have a dozen more recipes up my sleeve that I will eventually share with you. In the meantime, here’s a new one…. my Creamy Poppyseed Dressing!

This condiment is so delicious! With a gorgeous combination of ingredients, this 5-minute ⏳ recipe is truly a must-try. It has a rich balance of sweet and tangy, along with a fun texture of poppy seeds popping in your mouth when you bite into them.

For making this recipe, I use heavy cream for richness, although whole milk 🥛 is an alternative option. I certainly won’t use 2% or 1%.; these two are too thin. Another ingredient that can be swapped is champagne vinegar for white wine vinegar.

Additionally, the vinegar can be cut in half with lemon juice 🍋, which brings a vibrant, aromatic citrus flavor to the dressing. I would use this combo when pairing with a salad that has berries in it, such as my Strawberry Salad.

Let’s talk about sugar.
When making a recipe that doesn’t require any cooking or heat 🔥, like this Creamy Poppyseed Dressing or even Whipped Cream, using powdered sugar is the only way to go. It blends nicely, dissolving instantly without leaving a grainy texture behind.

Although it can be used right away, I prefer chilling it for at least 1 hour and up to 5 hours ⏰. It allows the flavors to blend together. For the leftovers, store them in an airtight glass container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. More than likely, the dressing will need to be whisked before serving.

I’m not sure if the main reason was financial or a way to rebel against my parents’ choice when it came to salad condiments, but this Creamy Poppyseed Dressing is just incredible! It’s quick to make, much healthier 💚 than any commercial brands, and it tastes BETTER… what else do you need?
