After being laid off due to budget cuts from my job in a television station’s newsroom, I had to find work. I ended up being a cocktail waitress. Surprisingly, I really enjoyed it ! Everybody was in a good mood, I met so many people and was making killer money 💰.
Working in that environment, I had the chance to try many different drinks 🥃. I had a lot of favorites like Grasshopper, Harvey Wallbanger, Old Fashioned, Tequila Sunrise, Greyhound, Singapore Sling, Long Island Iced Tea, and more including shooters: B52s, Sex on the Beach, Jello Shots, Kamikaze, Lemon Drop, etc.
Another one that I really enjoyed and still do to this day is Coco Cognac! Not really well-known, this after-dinner cocktail is amazing! It tastes like a light chocolate milk with a little zip to it! Like the majority of drinks, it’s super quick to make ⏳ and only requires 3 ingredients!
I use the same amount for both Cognac and Kahlúa. I don’t specify what type of Cognac to use but I recommend not using an expensive one. VS is a great one when mixing it in drinks. Although I use Kahlúa, Tia Maria is another delicious option.
Milk 🥛 is the third ingredient added to this Coco Cognac. We use 1% at home but feel free to use 2% or homo. In Canada, we call it “homo” which is the short form of homogenized milk while in the states it’s called whole milk. Of course, the more fat in the milk the creamier the drink will be. Don’t use half-and-half or cream… they’re too heavy.
Coco Cognac is a smooth cocktail, perfect to sip as a digestif. It’s simple and refreshing. There’s a long list of “after-dinner” drinks like Espresso Martini, Negroni, Chocolate Martini, Rusty Nail, Manhattan, Brandy Alexander, White Russian… but this featured one is certainly a must to add to your bar menu!
Cheers! 🥂
