Paçoca Recipe • A Delicious Brazilian Candy! | Club Foody

I love Holidays such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine’s Day, etc. There’s one that I enjoy more than others because it brings spring with it. I’m sure you guessed it already… it’s Easter! It’s a fun Holiday with its cute little bunnies, chicks, and egg decorations along with the lovely pastel colors.

I always prepare a nice meal for Easter like Brown Sugar Mustard Glazed HamVeal Ossobuco, Rack of Lamb with Herbes de Provence, etc. I also make a nice dessert such as Lemon Meringue PieTiramisuCaribbean Rum MousseChocolate Éclairs, and so on.

One food item I make only a few times a year is candy and there’s always one I have for Easter – that’s the child inside me who cannot imagine this celebration without candies… lol! When it comes to sweet treats, countries around the world have their favorites. In Russia they enjoy Paskha while in Arabic countries they eat Ma’amoul and the United Kingdom savors their Hot Cross Buns. In Brazil, they love Paçoca, a beautiful candy made with peanuts.

I’ve never been to Brazil but I did have Paçoca before. A friend of mine brought me some when she was visiting her relatives and I was impressed! After devouring them all – that’s why I don’t make candies too often! – I asked her for the recipe. She had to contact her aunt to get it.

I’ve made it a few times since but changed a small ingredient. I’ve been replacing regular granulated sugar with my vanilla one. Does it make a huge difference? I think so because it gives the candy a slight taste of vanilla in the background which is nice. Here’s the link to make it at home… Vanilla Sugar – How to Make It

This Paçoca recipe is so quick to make and only uses 5 ingredients! It’s so tasty as is but if you want to make a slight change to it, pour some melted dark chocolate (let it cool a little before) on top after pressing the mixture down in the baking dish. You’ll be surprised how close it tastes to Reese’s® Peanut Butter Cups.
Bon Appétit!
