Fudgesicles Recipe • A Cold Summer Treat! | Club Foody

When I think of summer, what comes to my mind is; warm weather, relaxation, outdoors, golf, open toed sandals – that’s right, I love them! – , fresh produce, road trips, BBQ, ice cream, backyard parties, and sitting by the fire pit.
 
When it comes to treats, what’s better than an ice cream or something similar like Frozen Yogurt Bars, Baked Alaska, Milkshakes, Ice Cream Floats, Sorbet, Sherbet, Kulfi, Freezies, Tartufo, Ice Pops, Gelato, Snow Cones or Grattachecca, Ice Cream Sandwich, Granita, Slush, Café Liégeois or Vietnamese Iced Coffee, Popsicles and Fudgesicles!
 
When it comes to Fudgesicles, they were my favorite as a kid. I’m not sure if they cut down on the amount of chocolate or changed the recipe but as I was getting older, they didn’t taste the same therefore I eventually stopped eating them.
 
In my 30s’, I started dating a guy who had a young daughter. Of course, during the summer months, we were buying cold treats for her. Again, I gave my long lasting favorite another try. Alas, it didn’t have the same flavor it had when I was a child. That is when I decided to make my own homemade version.
 
OMG! They were just like I remembered; chocolaty and so creamy! Now let’s be honest here… I had to try a few times before I got there. After about 5 attempts, I was finally happy with my recipe. I use 3 tbsp. of Hershey Special Dark Cocoa Powder. I tried it with Fry’s before but I find that the first one tasted more… well chocolaty! If you want to add less, go ahead, it will still taste lovely…
 
This summer, don’t bother spending your money on the store bought ones when you can make these incredibly flavorful Fudgesicles at home. There are no preservatives, they will taste fresher plus you’re in charge of the amount of chocolate flavor you want in your cold treat. This is definitely something you want to make this summer…
