BBQ Sauce for Chicken Recipe • Tasty & Easy to Make! | Club Foody

I have a friend who’s a chocoholic. Anything with chocolate, she’s right there enjoying it. Me… I’m a sauce-a-holic! I love sauces! I have a sauce for everything. There’s a sauce for this, another sauce for that, a specific one for this particular recipe, and so on.

It doesn’t have to be a fancy meal to make a sauce. When I serve my Crispy Oven Baked Chicken or Rotisserie Chicken, this is the sauce I enjoy making… my BBQ Sauce for Chicken! This is the perfect one for these dishes and it has just a little zip in it to enhance the chicken.

I use quite a few seasonings but when they’re all combined together, they blend harmoniously giving this BBQ Sauce for Chicken just the right amount of flavor without being overpowering. The beauty of making it from scratch is you probably have all the ingredients sitting in your cupboard already.

It’s nice as a dipping sauce but it can also be a great marinade. After cooling off, simply pour it over the chicken pieces of your choice making sure they are well coated and let them sit for a couple of hours. I also like to brush this sauce on my chicken while its rotisserieing. Not only does the skin get nice and crispy but it also adds a beautiful flavor to it.

There’s no need to buy the ones from bottles, cans or even worse, the ones in the packets because now there’s a lovely homemade recipe you can make. This BBQ Sauce for Chicken pairs very well with your chicken dinner plus it’s more than a dipping sauce…
Bon Appétit!

Paçoca Recipe • A Delicious Brazilian Candy! | Club Foody

I love Holidays such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine’s Day, etc. There’s one that I enjoy more than others because it brings spring with it. I’m sure you guessed it already… it’s Easter! It’s a fun Holiday with its cute little bunnies, chicks, and egg decorations along with the lovely pastel colors.

I always prepare a nice meal for Easter like Brown Sugar Mustard Glazed HamVeal Ossobuco, Rack of Lamb with Herbes de Provence, etc. I also make a nice dessert such as Lemon Meringue PieTiramisuCaribbean Rum MousseChocolate Éclairs, and so on.

One food item I make only a few times a year is candy and there’s always one I have for Easter – that’s the child inside me who cannot imagine this celebration without candies… lol! When it comes to sweet treats, countries around the world have their favorites. In Russia they enjoy Paskha while in Arabic countries they eat Ma’amoul and the United Kingdom savors their Hot Cross Buns. In Brazil, they love Paçoca, a beautiful candy made with peanuts.

I’ve never been to Brazil but I did have Paçoca before. A friend of mine brought me some when she was visiting her relatives and I was impressed! After devouring them all – that’s why I don’t make candies too often! – I asked her for the recipe. She had to contact her aunt to get it.

I’ve made it a few times since but changed a small ingredient. I’ve been replacing regular granulated sugar with my vanilla one. Does it make a huge difference? I think so because it gives the candy a slight taste of vanilla in the background which is nice. Here’s the link to make it at home… Vanilla Sugar – How to Make It

This Paçoca recipe is so quick to make and only uses 5 ingredients! It’s so tasty as is but if you want to make a slight change to it, pour some melted dark chocolate (let it cool a little before) on top after pressing the mixture down in the baking dish. You’ll be surprised how close it tastes to Reese’s® Peanut Butter Cups.
Bon Appétit!

Hearts of Palm Salad Recipe • A Light Tropical Delicacy! | Club Foody

I came from a family of incredible home cooks! Both of my grandmothers were unbelievable in the kitchen. The same applies to my aunts and uncles. My parents were as well but they also enjoyed trying new recipes, different cuisines and flavors… no wonder I’m a foody!

My father always liked cooking. At 85 years old, he still cooks every day and hasn’t lost his touch in the kitchen. They are many recipes that were inspired by him including this featured one… Hearts of Palm Salad!

This is a fabulous dish! It’s simple and yet so flavorful! With a lovely lemon vinaigrette, this Hearts of Palm Salad is absolutely perfect to serve as an appetizer. It is light and refreshing, an awesome first course meal to have when the main one is “heavy”.

I also like to add other vegetables to it like slices of cucumber, cherry tomatoes (botanically tomatoes are a fruit), avocado, onions, a little bit of lettuce, etc. Sometimes I change my ingredients and by all means, do the same by adding what you enjoy.

This vegetable is packed with great nutrients such as fiber, iron, potassium, zinc and much more including vitamins B2, B6 and C. Mixing it with other vegetables, makes this recipe extremely healthy. When I buy canned or jarred hearts of palm because I cannot find fresh, I like to rinse them thoroughly after I remove them from the brine to reduce the amount of sodium.

My father’s lemon vinaigrette is just beautiful! It has just enough of a “lemony” taste without being overpowering. I use his recipe to pour over other salads like JulienneWinter CitrusGreek, or simply a mixed green.

This Hearts of Palm Salad is an amazing appetizer to make. It’s quick, fresh and healthy plus it’s so delicious! This tropical vegetable is sure to please everyone. It’s a great delicacy that will make your salad much more flavorful!
Bon Appétit!

Roast Duck with Marmalade Glaze Recipe • Elegant & Tasty! | Club Foody

David and I are definitely social butterflies. We like entertaining, meeting new people and having fun! We have a great circle of friends that is spread out all over North America. When one of them shows up on the West Coast, we make sure that they will be well taken care of.

When I have people over, my thing is to create a recipe or two. I’ve been doing that ever since I was living on my own in my early 20s’. My motto has been – “If it’s not good, we can always order a pizza…” Since my husband and I enjoy entertaining a lot, this gives me the opportunity to create recipes like this one… my Roast Duck with Marmalade Glaze!

It all started because one summer I made way too much marmalade. After giving many jars to my friends, I was still stuck with a dozen of them. David is not a big “marmalade guy” and I knew that I had way too much for my own needs. Next thing I know, I was creating this glaze for my duck…

Let’s face it… This protein is a perfect fit with citrus fruits. Last year, I posted one of my popular recipes… Duck Breast with Blood Orange Sauce! I enjoy cooking with this poultry a lot and there are a few other recipes besides my Duck Fat Roasted Potatoes that I’ll be posting in the future so stay tuned…

This Roast Duck with Marmalade Glaze recipe is so easy to make. I use a young duck, stuff it with citrus fruits, add a couple spices, and in the oven it goes while I make my glaze on the stove top. Trust me, it’s so uncomplicated and the results are extremely delicious…

Paired with Scalloped Potatoes and Green Beans with Chili-Orange Oil, this Roast Duck with Marmalade Glaze is a nice elegant meal to serve for special occasions like this coming Easter… After you give it a try, this could definitely become your go-to recipe for the Holidays…
Bon Appétit!

Maple Bacon Cupcakes Recipe • Incredibly Delicious! | Club Foody

Have you ever tried a salty chip with a small piece of dark chocolate? Yummy! The combination of sweet and salty is a match made in heaven. Many times I’ve made chocolate and candies like my Spicy Holiday Chocolate Bark or my Salted Caramel Sauce and sprinkled them lightly with salt. This is one of those things that are just fantastic together when you want to indulge yourself.

Many people will agree that bacon is awesome! Now imagine incorporating it into a dessert… oh my! That is how I created this lovely sweet treat… Maple Bacon Cupcakes! These are so scrumptious! There’s the “sweet-salty” combination with a slight smoky flavor in the background… how decadent can it be?

Although I have a few, I’ve only posted one cupcake recipe so far which is my Dulce de Leche Cupcakes back in August last year. I’m more of a muffin person while David loves cupcakes. These Maple Bacon Cupcakes disappear fast when I make them. Guess who eats most of them?

As bacon is an important component for this recipe, I have a great kitchen tips & tricks on how to cook this protein. There’s no “babysitting” involved and also next to no mess to clean… a big bonus. Check it out by clicking on this link… Oven Baked Bacon • Best Way to Cook Bacon

These are definitely not your everyday cupcakes. Packed with yumminess, this Maple Bacon Cupcakes recipe is fabulous! It’s easy to make and I’m positive that everyone will enjoy these sweet treats …

When there’s a dish that is “stuffed”, most of us will not only be intrigued by it but very tempted to try it. Why is stuffed food so captivating? Is it the anticipation of having an extra burst of flavor? Perhaps but let’s face it, food that is stuffed is generally extra tasty…

I’ve posted a few recipes in the past like Meat ManicottiPork Tenderloin VitaliChicken Cordon BleuCalzoneSpicy Pork GyozaBronto BurgersStuffed Pork Tenderloin, and more including Pumpkin & Spice Cream Cheese Muffins and a favorite of mine coming this spring… Cannoli so stay tuned!

When we eat something, savory or sweet, that has been stuffed, it’s a mouth full of deliciousness! I do have another amazing ‘’stuffed” recipe that is packed with flavor… my Italian Stuffed Pasta Shells! Oh my! This dish is incredibly scrumptious! The spiciness from the meat along with the other added ingredients used to stuff the pasta shells plus the creamy tomato sauce gives this pasta dish a unique taste.

I like using Italian sausage for my recipes because the taste is so earthy, bold and complex. Of course I prefer using my Homemade Italian Sausage recipe which I will share with you sometimes next year but if you want to cut corners, there are a lot of great brands available at the supermarket. Try to buy the “spicy” ones because they will give more “zip” to your Italian Stuffed Pasta Shells recipe…

I love coming up with unique dishes which blend different flavors together. This Italian Stuffed Pasta Shells dish is definitely one of them! The ingredients blend so harmoniously well together to satisfy your palate…

Herbes de Provence • Make your own - Tips & Tricks | Club Foody

When it comes to spices and herbs, my spice drawer is packed plus I have more in the pantry. I cannot live without them because they are such great flavor enhancers. Adding just a little bit of this and a little bit of that makes a huge different from an ordinary recipe to an exciting and savory meal. As a recipe creator, it’s my personal commitment to find interesting herbs and spices to make my recipes taste amazing.

There’s a herb blend I use often in my cooking. I’ve been using it for years now and I just love the combination of herbs in it. Now depending on where you live, you might not find it and it is Herbes de Provence! This is a mixture of dried herbs that I like to grow every year. If you don’t have a herb garden, these herbs can be easily found in most grocery stores or online.

I use Herbes de Provence in so many recipes, like my Coq au VinHerb & Butter RiceMeat Lovers PizzaChicken à la DijonnaiseVegetable TianEasy Pork RoastCarrot Soup with Mashed PotatoesSalisbury Steak with Mushroom GravyMediterranean Fish Fillet with TapenadeChicken Cordon Bleu, and so on.

Herbes de Provence is a lovely earthy blend of seven different herbs including lavender flowers although this is not really a common ingredient in the typical French blend.

It’s a delicious way to enhance your recipes with a lovely touch of earthiness. If you can’t find this in your area, now you can make this homemade Herbes de Provence anytime you want to elevate your recipes.
Bon Appétit!

Here’s the ingredient amounts for Herbes de Provence

– 1 tbsp. dried thyme leaves
– 1 tbsp. dried basil leaves
– 1 tbsp. dried sage leaves
– 1 tbsp. dried rosemary, finely chopped
